Upper Marina (RED)

Upper Marina was a rebuilding urban district located in central Night City during the Time of the Red.

History

Prior to the Fourth Corporate War, the area where the Upper Marina stood was originally divided between the Marina District, Old Downtown, New Harbor and Upper Eastside. After the war, this new district also incorporated some areas of other neighboring city sections, including some surviving places from the City & Corporate District.^[1]

During the 2040s, in the midst of the rebuilding period of Night City, Upper Marina was a bustling urban district with a mix of old industrial zones and gentrified "International" style neighborhoods built around a well-maintained marina. There were ongoing development projects which included megabuildings to house the displaced population and plans to rebuild the NCART lines above ground and extend them to cover all the districts in the city.^[1] Some neighborhoods in Upper Marina were upscale, with multiple luxurious businesses and heavily NCPD patrolled streets.^[2]

The Dockside Billhooks was a roller derby team in the 2040s made up of dock workers from Upper Marina and the Heywood Industrial Zone.
