The Night City Transit Corporation (NCTC) is a public-benefit corporation based in Night City.

Overview

A city-managed public organization, NCTC oversees the entire mass transit system of the Night City metropolitan area, including all bus and railway lines. They also provide bus services as well. NCTC works closely with NCART, who manages the public city railway service.[1]

Bus Service

In 2020, NCTC had a fleet of over 30 Urban Transporters, providing spacious wide seating, holographic advertising display boards, computerized ticket processors, and the highest armor a public transit vehicle could have for the maximum in passenger protection.

The NCTC bus stations were dubbed "bus bunkers" due to how protected they were. Each one of these was built as a small concrete wall room, with two armored glass windows, a large armored glass sliding door with crash-bars, steel seats mounted on the floor, and one phone box line to the NCPD. Busses picked up passengers every 10 to 35 minutes at each of the over 200 bus bunkers located throughout the metropolitan NCTC system. Tickets in 2020 were 1eb per person.[1]

History

1994 - 2020s

Since the founding of Night City in 1994, NCTC was responsible for the smooth running of the entire city mass transit system. The staff was well trained, did a good job, also had total police power over its buses and subways, and they were willing to use it. It worked closely with the Night City Area Rapid Transit (NCART).

Originally based in a building in the University District, the steady grow of the metropolis required new installations, as such, the new Transit Center began construction in Little China. At some point in the 2010 as well, Erika Annabelle became the head of NCTC, making her the youngest woman to ever hold a position in the Government of Night City.

By 2020, the Transit Center was the new base of operations for NCTC, though they continued to use the old building to monitor the whole transit system. The Transit Corporation kept overseeing all bus and NCART lines, as well as the inter-continental Planetran station located at the Center. During this time, NCTC had a fleet of over 30 buses, being considered one of the most modern in the United States.[1]

2030s - 2070s

During the Time of the Red, NCTC remained intact on major city thoroughfares.[2]

By the 2070s, most public transportation in Night City was automated, including buses and trains.[3]

NCTC Bus Routes (2020)

Central Night City

These were some of the routes in Central Night City, since there were over 200 bus bunkers located throughout the metropolitan NCTC system in 2020.
