The weapon is known for its high recoil and tendency to jam, but it offers substantial firepower at a reasonable price.

== Acquisition ==
The DR-5 Nova can be acquired from various 6th Street enemies, purchased from various weapon vendors, and is also found in NCPD weapon lockers. Weapon vendor locations include The Glen, Vista del Rey, Arroyo, Rancho Coronado, and West Wind Estate. Sophia Dupont, a vendor, is located at EBM Petrochem Stadium, Dogtown.

== Variants and Attachments ==
The DR-5 Nova has different variants available, including the Military Variant and the Neon Variant. It can be installed with a Short Scope attachment and has a Tier 1 Crafting Spec known by default, which can also be purchased.

== Notable Variants ==
Doom Doom is a variant of the DR-5 Nova in Cyberpunk 2077, serving as the signature weapon of Dum Dum. It features an iconic modifier that allows it to fire 3 explosive rounds per shot and gains a 300% increased dismemberment chance. Doom Doom can be dropped by Dum Dum or purchased from Herold Lowe at the EBM Petrochem Stadium, but to obtain it, V must ensure Dum Dum's survival by siding with Maelstrom. Siding with Militech will prevent obtaining Doom Doom. Another variant, Mancinella, is featured in Cyberpunk 2077: Phantom Liberty, named after the toxic Caribbean plant. It has an iconic modifier that gives headshots a 33% chance to apply Poison and retains stealth bonuses for 3 seconds after exiting stealth.
