Ubo Tanaka

General Ubo Tanaka is in charge of the Arasaka training facility in Sapporo, Japan. At 50 years old while not seeing too much battle himself, Tanaka has been known for being an expert strategist. Originally being a member of the Japanese Self Defense Forces, he grew up in a poor family from Sapporo and from a young age took pleasure in gaining the upper hand in the Exam Wars. During his time in school he got the best scores by harboring discipline and having a serious attitude, which has given him the reputation of being a Tokyoite despite him never even set foot in Tokyo his whole life.

General Tanaka is renowned for his fierce defensive tactics, and he requires his troops to extract the maximum amount of damage from the enemy for every centimeter of retreat. His offensive strategies tend toward the intricate maneuvers of classic Japanese battle; while often too complex for the battlefield, Tanaka's battle plans are widely successful.

Ubo Tanaka is a dedicated soldier and tireless officer, but not in the archaic samurai mold cultivated by Saburo Arasaka. He prefers modern pleasures and comfort over his employer's Spartan historical lifestyle. Because of this he lives in an Arasaka troop compound near Osaka.
