The Oaks

The Oaks was a beaverville residential complex and suburb of North Oak, located in its western section.

Overview

The Oaks occupied a unique position among beavervilles. Adjacent to the massive military presence of the city itself, the Oaks had become a suburb for retired military officers and enlisted, as well as a few civilian personnel associated in some way with the Military Base (base exchange clerks, secretaries, contractors, teachers, among others).

Like the rest of the city, the Oaks were under the same military control and had an orderly, well-regimented flavor to them.
