The Albino Alligators are a gang operating in Night City.

History

Early history

The Albino Alligators started as a small posergang based out of an abandoned car washing establishment in Rancho Coronado. They got their name from the promotional polo shirts that the car wash printed before going out of business; a black shirt with a cartoon-like white alligator carrying an assault rifle printed on the backside. This symbol became the gang's insignia, with some members also tattooing it onto their upper arms. All of them wore the shirts with the collars permanently pooped up, and despite being minor nuisance to the residents of Night City, since they had so many shirts, there were always new people willing to join them. However, when hopping up on drugs and decently armed, the Alligators could become a notorious threat. Some of its members were simple youngsters whom people didn't even consider a menance.[1][2][3] Over time, the gang gained a significant influence in Rancho Coronado, with their carwash base of operations becoming one of the most reliable places to find clean drinking water in the district.[4]

2045

In 2045, an underboss of the Alligators known as Tarquin had large ambitions beyond having fun and causing mayhem. In her view, the future of Night City was in real estate, so she decided Woodland Park, a neighborhood at the edge of the city in North Heywood, would make a great start to transform the Albino Alligators into a real estate empire. The only thing she needed was to convince the locals to sell, and she tried to do so by a slow and steady intimidation campaign. What began with only smashed windows and trash fires soon evolved into harassment of locals. Some businesses relied on a network of skateboarding kids to offer local deliveries, so the Alligators targeted them by stealing their packages and breaking their skateboards. That draw the attention of Ella Corella, owner of the Burning Bright Bodega, who knew no deliveries meant less money and was also protective of the kids. For that reason she talked with the neighboring businesses and hired a group of mercenaries to handle the situation before it worsened.

Tarquin found out about the mercs, and that same night she and her group of Albinos decided to finish their threats by destroying the neighborhood. Whether they were stopped or not depended on the hired mercs. If the Alligators won, except from the Dynalar Campus and Acorn Towers, the rest of Woodland Park was burned down before 6th Street showed up to expel them. Otherwise, the locals and the mercs were able to push out the Albino Alligators from the neighborhood for good.[3]
