Angel (RED)
Angel is a techie who during the Time of the Red was residing in Los Alamos, New Mexico. She is involved in the Black Dog story from Cyberpunk RED.
Appearance
Angel is described as a tall woman with blonde hair, being almost ethereally beautiful, but in a way that seems to reflect a life of hardship and pain. She is seen wearing battered work clothes, with a large tech's toolbelt hanging loosely around her waist. She also has a right cyberarm, with tones of grey and gold.[1]
Biography
Nothing is known about Angel prior to the events of Black Dog. She resides in Los Alamos Lab, specifically Building PF-4, a former laboratory which was tasked in designing and building nuclear weapons in the past.
She has also been in constant contact with Samantha Stevens, a woman residing in Night City who had some possessions of Johnny Silverhand.[1]
Black Dog
Many years later, Samantha Stevens sent to Angel a group of edgerunners who had been tasked with transporting a mysterious crate to Los Alamos in New Mexico. During their journey east from Night City, the group discovered they were transporting an Arasaka nuclear device. Despite just finding out what was in the crate, they decided to continue with the job.
After reaching their destination, Angel met them at the entrance of Los Alamos Labs. Once she had checked the package, she stated that it did indeed look like a bomb. With a short whistle from her, a large powered transport cart emerged from the PF-4 Building. One of the edgerunners, Trace Santiago, inquired her about the bomb. She answered that there was no better place to disarm a nuclear device than the place where they used to make them. After unloading the device onto the cart, Angel thanked them for their trouble, as this was something Samantha had been looking forward to do for years. As a reward for a job well done, Angel gave them a chip with a large amount of eddies, much more than what they thought they would get. With another short whistle, the automated cart returned at the entrance of the building with the device. Before leaving, Angel remembered that another of the edgerunners, Lilayah, had been looking for an old song. Handling her another chip, Angel said it was a full recording of the song, and followed by a small chuckle, she stated that Samantha was not the only fangirl of Silverhand. Immediately afterwards, Angel and the cart disappeared inside the building.
During her comlink with Samantha, her NC friend revealed she was dying of cancer due to the radiation she had received after moving the Arasaka bomb shortly after the AHQ Disaster of 2023. Angel responded that she shouldn't have done it, that she could have waited until she was able to send help. Samantha smirked, as she remined her friend that they didn't know who or what owned the bomb at that time, so she had to move quick. This gave her enough time to recover all the "important things" from the wrecked bunker under the ruined Arasaka Towers, and enough time to get rid of the "hot stuff" at the bottom of Del Coronado Bay. Angel thanked her for having done all that and asked if there was anything she could do to help her. Samantha shook her head and said that she had promised to deliver him to Angel. And after finally finding the right people, she had kept the promise. With that, Samantha could finally take some time off, and when she felt it was the time, she would shut down her life support machine.
Not long after the conversation with Samantha, Angel approached the bomb. She carefully rolled out its casing, and introduced a code into the small exposed keypad. After a hissing of compressed air, the bomb's casing split in two, revealing the blue-white ice of a hidden cryo-chamber instead of a nuclear device. Tenderly looking down, Angel glimpsed the dark, frozen face behind the curtain of ice, while whispering "Hello, my love."[1]

It is implied in the Black Dog story — including her depiction having a golden arm and calling the frozen person at the end "my love" — that Angel is related to Alt Cunningham in some way, whether they are the same person or someone else. |
