Lightning Breaks

Lightning Breaks is a Main Job in Cyberpunk 2077. It becomes available after completing Ghost Town.

Walkthrough

Panam Palmer asks V to meet her again during midnight at the garage near the Sunset Motel in Rocky Ridge, to discuss their plan on how to take down the Kang Tao AV.

When V meets her there, she will be working on her truck. She quickly finishes up, and she and V will discuss a plan to use an EMP launched from a power station to take down the Kang Tao AV, and enter the AV to take Anders Hellman.

After they discuss the plan, V rides with Panam to the location where they plan to take down the AV. While on their way there, Panam stops the car, and lets V calibrate to the machine gun attached to her car, requiring V to jack in and shoot at a few abandoned vehicles with it. Afterwards, they discuss how they plan to launch the EMP using the power station.

V and Panam then wait a few hours for the AV to fly over before making their way to the power station. Upon arriving, V jacks into Panam's machine gun mounted to her car, and they are chased down by a few drones that V must shoot down. Once the drones are shot down, V jacks out of the gun, and Panam drives her car into the entrance of a control station. There, V overcharges the terminal, and rushes back to Panam's car, and they drive out of and away from the power station to a cliff looking over it, as to ensure the pulse from the EMP does not interfere with them.

Panam gives V the detonator for the EMP, and they wait a brief period of time before they spot the AV flying over coming from Pacifica. V triggers the detonator, which does not work immediately, and sends the EMP too late to take the AV out of the sky. Panam steps out of the truck, and uses an RPG to shoot down the AV herself. This does not take it down either, but does force it to lose altitude. This leads directly into Life During Wartime.

Journal Entry

Panam Palmer. Gotta say, I like her. Girl's got a pair - and clearly a plan, too. Let's see if it's enough to grab Hellman. Honestly, V, never thought I'd ride with the nomads again. I know, I know she left the Aldecaldos, but you can feel it too, can't you? Clan's in her blood and bones. In her heart. Don't think she'll let us down.

Trivia

The job is named after the Plasmatics song "Lightning Breaks" from the 1982 album "Coup d'Etat."
