Hungary is a landlocked country in Central Europe.

History

Hungary was quick to find investors after becoming independent from the Soviet Union, and by the Crash of '94 they had enough capital to keep themselves afloat. This prosperity was cut short in 2002 when a mysterious plague swept through the country and killed all their wheat. Hungary's people remained fed thanks to the European Economic Community.

The Hungarian government bought up this depleted farmland, with hopes of growing alternative crops, but the old farmers were disenchanted and happy enough living on the ECC's pension. SovOil, however, was happy to buy up all the farmland to be used to grow CHOOH2. However, the people of Hungary hated this development, tensions escalated as SovOil applied force against protesters, and civil war seemed inevitable.

In June of 2012, General Todorov, the leader of the Hungarian military, finally had enough. He ousted the parliament and gained the backing of the EEC. On July 23rd, he officially nationalised all of SovOil's investments, with the compromise that they would be payed back the assets that had been destroyed by protesters over a 10 year period.[1]

Government

General Todorov still remained in power circa 2020 and was beloved by the people of Hungary. He had established a new parliamentary system, but essentially he was still the supreme leader of the nation.[1]
