Okay, arguing semantics aside, Australasia refers to the regional territory. Its used for convenience. My point still stands, sometimes you'll hear the term 'The Chinas' not anymore probably, but it refers to the mainland China, and any regions that once either were part of China or has heavy chinese influence. Like I said Taiwan is independent according to the book.
