Medtech in the Cyberpunk Universe

Medtechs are medical professionals within the Cyberpunk universe, responsible for the care of humans and those with cyberware implants.

Role and Responsibilities

Medtechs are akin to Medical Technologists, Lab Technicians, and Nurse-Practitioners. They are trained to identify drugs, understand their purposes and side effects, and operate diagnostic, sensor, and life-support equipment. Medtechs utilize their expertise to assist in keeping individuals alive through their Role Ability Medicine. When advancing their Medicine rank, Medtechs can specialize in one of three areas: Surgery, Pharmaceuticals, or Cryosystems.

Equipment

A Medtech Bag is a specialized piece of equipment used by Medtechs, containing essential tools such as scalpels and a dermal stapler. This bag is referenced in the Cyberpunk RED Core Rulebook.

Notable Characters

Naomi Alexis is a character within the Cyberpunk universe, and Wakako Okada, who pursued medicine at Night City University, later became a fixer in Night City after working as a Medtech.
