Malorian Arms Assault Cannon
The Assault Cannon is weapon manufactured by Malorian Arms in Cyberpunk 2020.
Overview
Eran Malour showcased the first rifle concept model on October 18 of 2020, during a presentation at the Malorian Headquarters in Night City.[1] After around two years of expectations, in 2022, the first prototype was finalized. Eran choose the notorious solo Morgan Blackhand to wield it, which at the time was the only one manufactured as production and sales wouldn't begin until the following year.[2]
Specifications
This massive autoloader fires its .75-caliber smart-grenades from low-pressure steelcased shells, as such, recoil is modest—about that of a 10-gauge shotgun, although the muzzle flash is impressive. These projectiles are actually rocket-powered, laser-guided micro-missiles (which act similar to smart bullets) with fragment-doped explosive-gel warheads (if armor is not penetrated, armor's SP is reduced by 1/2 total damage rolled).
Twelve-shot box magazines of this ammunition feed into a port ahead of the trigger assembly. When no clip is loaded, the foregrip can fold up to seal the magazine well against fouling. Being made of carbon-carbon composites, this weapon is fairly light despite its bulk.[2]
