Los Osos
Los Osos was a small town in San Luis Obispo County, on the Californian central coast of the United States of America. It was located due south of Morro Bay.
History
In the last decades of the 20th century, Los Osos, Morro Bay, San Luis Obispo, and other nearby settlements suffered long from a number of violent local biker gangs, especially from a group called Hell's Angels. This was mostly due to the small presence of law enforcements and the frequently travelled highways in the area.
During the Collapse, the San Luis Obispo police force and the Hell's Angels begun a turf war that extended over the surrounding towns. During a five-day rampage, the gang took over Morro Bay, an event that ended with many of the ten thousand inhabitants either dead, maimed, or fleeing their hometown. In a matter of days, Morro Bay and its surroundings became a ghost town where no one intended to return, known as the site of the Morro Bay Massacre. Businessman Richard Night managed to buy the township of Morro Bay and nearby parcels for very little due to its dark history, and soon contracted Arasaka to clean out the local gangs to make the area "safe" again. Ever since the mid-1990s, the northern sections of Los Osos were occupied by the metropolis of Night City.[1][2]
The parts that were not included in the original Night City plans, were reclaimed during the Time of the Red.[1]
By 2077 there was no mention of Los Osos, likely having been fully absorbed by the growing metropolis.
Notes
- Sometime prior to the Unification War, a franchise of hotels known as Los Osos constructed new buildings in a number of places around Pacifica.
- Mike Pondsmith mentioned that Los Osos is where the old Rancho Coronado and Heywood would be.[3]
Trivia
- The town is the same Los Osos-Baywood Park as in real life.
- "Los Osos" is Spanish for "The Bears."

The City was on the tip of the isthmus. But I realized I needed more room for the City, so I filled in part of the real bay and then cut the isthmus apart in the south to allow a lower harbor, using San Francisco as a model. So Los Osos is where Rancho Cornonado and Heywood would be. Of course, the place has been heavily fictionalized since then so that it doesn't really match any real place in California any more."
