The Limb Preservation and Transport Unit (LPTU) is a more specific version of the FrostTech cryo-case. Should a limb be severed relatively cleanly, this unit can preserve it intact until it can be re-attached. Even in the case of a messy amputation, as by gunshot wounds or explosions, it is still easier to clone part of a limb than the whole organ, and so the preservation may well save time and money.[1]
Game notes: The LPTU is not a simple piece of apparatus, but it can be carried by a single person, and can contain a leg, or two arms, or various other organs. It is specifically designed for limb preservation, so that the Body Bank value of the limb will be 10-60% greater than normal for a standard condition body part.[1]
