This article is about the location in Cyberpunk RED. For other uses, see Heywood (disambiguation).

The Heywood Industrial Zone was one of the districts of Heywood during the Time of the Red. It was located southeast of central Night City.

History

2020s - 2030s

The area where Heywood stood was originally the industrial city of Heywood. After the Fourth Corporate War, this region got overwhelmed when droves of refugees climbed over themselves to get to safe spots like this one. Then the Night City Holocaust occurred, refuges from around the metropolitan area flooded the surrounding suburbs, constructing multitude of tent cities.

Over the following years, Heywood became overcrowded with homeless citizens who either fled other areas of Night City because of the war or who were pushed out due to the ongoing gentrification of the Rebuilding Urban Center. This area of Heywood was heavily industrialized, and despite the countless homeless residing within, it continued to operate as such.[1]

2040s - 2060s

By the 2040s, much like the rest of Heywood, the Industrial Zone was an overpacked suburb of central Night City. Nevertheless, it was still one, if not the largest industrial area of the metropolis still functioning. It was overflowed with warehouses, construction equipment, factories, and docks stocked with derelict cargo ships. Ongoing development projects were still arranged, which included megabuildings to house the displaced population and plans to rebuild the NCART lines above ground and extend them to cover all the districts in the city.[1]

Over time, this area would be incorporated into the heavily industrialized sub-district of Arroyo.
