Farida is not the typical doctors' daughter who simply followed in their footsteps. Even as a child, she understood that ideals mainly serve those who are - or strive to be - in power. When her mother was accused of murdering a member of Iran's elite on the operating table, the family was forced to flee the country. They found asylum in the NUSA, where Militech immediately took advantage of her parents' skills and prepared young Farida for her profession by tossing her headfirst into the Unification War as soon as her training was complete. Farida ended up in Hansen's unit, which was sent to Night City. There she witnessed once again how power distorts ideals. Hansen, however, gave her a clinic and, in a way, a free hand. Now the ripper maintains the cyberware of BARGHEST soldiers and private clients alike while keeping her head down, hoping that once she saves up enough, she can walk away and maybe even return to Iran. In the meantime, as long as she has the option, she doesn't refuse to help her old contacts, for despite the many disappointments over the years, she still feels like an NUSA soldier.
