Cult of the New Dawn

The Cult of the New Dawn is a modern Taoist cult introduced in Cyberpunk 2020.

History

The modern version of the Cult of the New Dawn was founded by Doctor Sun Kilacho when he discovered ancient records of the original cult active in Feudal-Era China. The first meeting of its members happened to have had many of them have left Los Angeles just before the infamous "Big One" earthquake, leading them to attribute the mystical powers of the cult to their chance survival.

The cult is based on Taoism and preaches a message of equality with the belief that humanity can achieve a more prosperous future by fixing their past mistakes. Shortly into the cult's operation, Kilacho was injured by corporate security guards he had angered, and he was left unable to speak. He then had a set of Interface Plugs installed that allowed him to articulate his thoughts in a pure form through computers.
