Game Ending options:

This quest's dialogue choices with Johnny near the end can determine if the secret ending becomes available or not. Also, depending on choices made during this quest, Blistering Love may not become available, which locks out the ability to build up your relationship further with Johnny, and not being able to do Rogue's ending path.

Walkthrough

This article requires cleanup.
[Reason: Further rewrite from V's perspective]

After Search and Destroy and another part of Tapeworm, Johnny will eventually ask to allow him to control your body so he can explain everything to Rogue to get her to help him take out Adam Smasher. V heads to the Afterlife and after talking with Johnny, takes the pill to surrender control to Johnny.

The events of the side quest A Cool Metal Fire take place.

V wakes up in a motel room, with Rogue Amendiares watching over them. She tells V that Johnny told her about Adam Smasher and then she leaves to gather more information about the Ebunike.

Ebunike

After about a day, Rogue calls and reveals that the Ebunike is an old container ship moored in Night City and ask V to meet with her back at the Afterlife to discuss further. Head over and after a short conversation with Crispin Weyland, follow Rogue out to her car where she'll give V a Replica of Johnny's Samurai jacket. They hop into Rogue's car and ride to the Ebunike Docks where the ship is.[Notes 1]

After spending some time to go over the plans and observing the location, Rogue and V enter the base and find a data term, which confirms that Grayson is currently aboard the ship. Rogue and V continue their path, and board the ship.

If V checks out the Kang Tao labelled crates on the Ebunike:

Rogue and V uncover that Adam Smasher was behind the Kang Tao raid reported some time ago. The crates contain firearms that were bound for South Africa.

If V checks out the body in one of the containers:

V finds a female body in one of the containers. The woman was strangled then shot point blank with hollow point rounds four days ago, as deduced by Rogue. According to Johnny, this is Adam Smasher's signature style.

If V checks out the audio recordings on the computer:

V can uncover that Adam Smasher was pulling the strings behind Militech backing out of a deal with Night Corp, as he was blackmailing Anthony Gilchrist by taking a woman by the name of Mallory hostage.

If V checks out the suspicious packages:

V finds some suspicious boxes labeled "Tri-phet."

After a short firefight with Grayson and his remaining goons, in which Grayson is defeated but not killed, he'll insinuate Rogue was actually on the same side as him at one point and there's more to the story on why she wasn't hunted down and killed after the Arasaka Tower bombing, but when V asks Rogue about this, she'll just note he's trying to distract V from their goal to find Smasher. Grayson will reveal that Adam Smasher is back in Japan, having been promoted to head of Arasaka's security, and thus unlikely to return to Night City. He tries to bargain his way into being spared, offering a special keepsake of Johnny's they can have if V lets him go.[Notes 2] After dealing with Grayson, Rogue becomes upset and V talks to her before her departing. Johnny suggests to give her a moment and let her cool down.

The Oilfields

This section requires expanding. Click here to add more.📝

V hops into a car and drives out to the Northern Oilfields to find Johnny's unmarked grave. At the supposed grave site, Johnny and V have a lengthy conversation, looking back on their adventure so far, and about what is still to come.

Secret Ending

Main article: Cyberpunk 2077 Endings#Secret Ending
The dialogue choices made here are critical to ensure the secret ending, (Don't Fear) The Reaper.[Notes 3]

Most dialogue choices will unlock Blistering Love, but to ensure the secret ending is unlocked, specific dialogue choices are required:

  • "Nah, fucked that up too."
  • "What do you want from me?"
  • "Ok. But as second chances go, this is your last."

If done correctly, Johnny will then request V calls Rogue on his behalf to ask her out on a date. If V does not give Johnny a second chance after choosing "Nah, fucked that up too," he will ask V to go and see Kerry Eurodyne.

Journal Entry
