Blades is a character in Cyberpunk RED.

Biography

Although her real name is not known, Blades gained her nickname while growing up on the streets of Night City during the Time of the Red. Since very young, she survived the dangerous Combat Zones on sheer grit, determination, and a considerable amount of luck. While growing up, Blades gained a lot of connections, and had a vast knowledge on the scavenging sites in the Old Combat Zone. She eventually joined Generation Red, a yogang operating in her home.

While fighting off a group of scavengers who were trying to eliminate the competition, Blades lost one of her eyes and both legs. This, however, gave her a reputation for fighting like a wildcat among her contacts. Following this, Blades replaced what she had lost with cheap cyberware. Her experience in lacking safety and security became her motivation to badly seek it for herself and her friends.

Blades reputation among the combat zoners eventually reached Danger Gal, a detective company based in Night City. They were impressed by her, and when Tigress joined the company, she decided to contact Blades. Tigress was a former yoganger herself, and was trying to provide a future in Danger Gal for the young Night City kids that lacked one. As a gesture of good will in these recruitment efforts, the company funded the replacement of Blades' medical-grade cyberlegs with better ones, which included skate feet.

Blades was invested in the future of the Gen Red kids, though she was not very sure on how to deal with Tetra, a young kid in the gang who saw her as a real hero. Tetra's adoration and insistence to hang around her puzzled Blades, as she was not used on having people that close to her. Other members such as Hi-Stick, Wheelie, or Shredder also wanted Blades to show off her skills in the skate park they had built in their clubhouse. On top of this, agent Tigress was trying to encourage Blades to use her influence to convince the rest of Generation Red to work with Danger Gal, but the company was skeptic Blades could achieve that.[1]
