Ana Friedman, like a bald hairdresser or a cobbler who refuses to wear shoes, is an excellent analyst who makes terrible decisions in her personal life. She has been working for the Federative Republic of Brazil's intelligence agency for several years and truly values her job. Two reasons: the work gives her an adrenaline kick like no other, and she gets to read about it the next day in the morning screamsheets.
It's addictive, especially when trying to forget about a failed marriage. Sometimes it's just easier to analyze data on the movements of hostile corporations in the NUSA than to deal with life's problems.
