Nibbles

Nibbles is a stray cat living in Megabuilding H10 who can potentially become V's pet in Cyberpunk 2077.
Appearance
Nibbles is a Sphynx, a hairless breed of cat, with a seal pointed color pattern. The lack of the usually distinct blue eyes for this breed may be due to the fact that the cats are possibly cybernetic.
Biography
In 2077, V found a bowl in a corridor of Megabuilding H10 alongside a shard. If they decided to leave some cat food in it, upon returning after a while, Johnny Silverhand appears and comments after observing a cat eating from it. V is then able to interact with the cat, giving them the name "Nibbles", and taking the stray to their apartment, where Johnny and V observe it relaxing in a laundry basket. From that point on, Nibbles remains a resident in V's apartment.[1]
Nibbles seems to have a delicate palate, as the aforementioned shard states that they only eats a prescript cat food made of tofu and tuna. To prepare it, one has to mash it up a bit and then put it in the microwave for exactly 17.5 seconds. If Nibbles refuses to eat it, then a little splash of NiCola should do the trick, although too much of the beverage can make them barf it right back up.[2]
Nibbles, as a companion, remains in V's apartment at all times, where food, drink and a litter box are provided, with no need of further maintenance. They will meow for attention and change positions often; and may also interact with the iguana from time to time. Nibbles can sometimes be seen drinking water from the shower base. If V decides to shower, Nibbles will hiss and growl and run away to another place.[1]
Endings
During The Sun ending, Nibbles will appear at the Afterlife, sitting on the counter.[3]
In The Tower ending, it is revealed that Nibbles and the iguana (if present) were adopted by Rogue Amendiares after V disappeared. They can be seen sitting on the counter behind Rogue in the message she leaves for V.[4]

Together with the NCPD we'll soon launch a complete — environmentally friendly — cleansing operation. However, citizens outside of North Oak should still be mindful and vigilant of stray animals, and they should call their medical service provider in case of any contact. Who knows what they might be exposed to, after all." - Night City city official[5]
Acquisition
In order to obtain Nibbles as a pet, you'll need to first obtain Cat Food. It can be found at certain food vendors or randomly within Night City, like the Arasaka Industrial Park or the Aldecaldos camp.
Some time after completing Playing for Time at the start of Act 2, the opportunity to adopt Nibbles will become available. You will need to venture left upon exiting V's apartment, follow the corridor, and then turn right. In a trash bin just around the corner, a shard titled "feed teh cat" can be found, and right below it will be an empty bowl. Interacting with the bowl will fill it with cat food. Leave the megabuilding, and return some time later.
After said time passes, upon returning to the bowl, Nibbles will be eating from it. If V interacts with the cat, they will be given the option to pick it up. From that point on, Nibbles will remain a permanent resident in the apartment.
Notes
- The name Nibbles only appears after V scans the cat after adopting it.
- Despite the "feed teh cat" shard and Nibbles Photo Mode DLC referring to Nibbles as a as male cat, Quest Director Paweł Sasko has stated multiple times that Nibbles is a "she."[6] However, as of Patch 2.0, the shard and DLC description still indicate that Nibbles is a male cat.
- Mike Pondsmith has commented that Deathwish could be the ancestor of Nibbles, being their great-great-great-great-great-great-great grandfather.[7][8]
Trivia
- Nibbles is a reference to the cat of the same name encountered in The Witcher 3: The Wild Hunt.
