E3 2018

E3, or the Electronic Entertainment Expo is an annual video game conference in Los Angeles, CA, and is considered the leading event where big name projects and hardware are announced^[1]. At the 2018 edition, after a 5 year hiatus, Cyberpunk 2077 returned during the Xbox conference.

Overview

Cyberpunk 2077 was revealed during the Microsoft Xbox conference, where Xbox chief Phil Spencer was cut-off mid sentence by a mysterious power outage followed by a computer hack taking place on screen. The teaser trailer song Bullets by Archive played whilst the unseen hacker accessed a server to play the Cyberpunk 2077 E3 2018 trailer.

An lengthy gameplay trailer was shown to journalists behind doors as well as a re-launch of the Cyberpunk website, affirming fans that the game is on its way and is the next big focus for CD Projekt Red. The game won over 100 awards at E3 2018, including several best in show awards.
