Southwest Combined Operational Group is a military organization, which brings together units from different services to patrol the nation and defend it from external and internal threats.

Overview

When former Secretary of Defense Jonathan Seward declared martial law on August 17, 1996 and suspended the US Constitution, Combined Operational Groups were deployed to maintain order throughout the country.

The deserts and plains of the Southwest (Arizona, Arkansas, Colorado, Kansas, New Mexico, and Oklahoma) demand mobile forces not far removed from military versions of Nomads. Like the Great Plains COG, the Southwest COG is largely mobile infantry and light vehicles. As any other COG, Southwest COG is made up of three elements: one force with heavy armor or firepower, one larger infantry force, and an air wing.[1]
