Northeast Combined Operational Group is a military organization, which brings together units from different services to patrol the nation and defend it from external and internal threats.

Overview

When former Secretary of Defense Jonathan Seward declared martial law on August 17, 1996 and suspended the US Constitution, Combined Operational Groups were deployed to maintain order throughout the country.

The entire Northeast sector (Connecticut, Delaware, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, Vermont, and Washington, D.C.) is under the jurisdiction of the nation's largest COG, the NECOG. As any other COG, Midwest COG is made up of three elements: one force with heavy armor or firepower, one larger infantry force, and an air wing.

Northeast COG is five divisions strong, spread throughout the sector, with the elite Special Operations Group Delta and a USMC Recon battalion located in Washington, D.C.[1]
