Pneumo
Pneumo is a netrunner who during the Time of the Red was part of a group of six edgerunners. He is one of the main characters of the Black Dog story from Cyberpunk RED.[1]
Biography
Pneumo got his sense of justice from his parents - honest cops in a corrupt system. He started netrunning early to fight the powers that be. When London authorities caught wind of his activities he tried to run away. Unfortunately, his escape led to a chase and a horrible accident that almost killed him. With the help of his family, Pneumo survived, escaped, and was rebuilt. Nomads smuggled him into the United States, where he met his wife and partner, Kepler.[2][3]

Development
Pneumo was created by Mike Pondsmith with the help of James Young, one of "The Cyber6" - as Pondsmith likes to think. Five of the Cyber6 have real world prosthetic limbs and it's something the writers of Cyberpunk RED thought a lot about. This inspired the creation of the group of six edgerunners.[2]
- A presenter on the BBC, double-amputee James Young is a passionate science communicator who earned the nickname "Metal Gear Man" after working with Japanese video game company Konami to design his own unique bionic arm. James' work, including "Can Robots Love Us?" can be seen on the BBC Three YouTube channel. He lives in London with his wife, Ashley Sherman, and their child.[2]

- A photo of Pneumo and the rest of the six edgerunners can be seen behind the bar counter of the Afterlife in Cyberpunk 2077 (see below).
- Pneumo and Kepler appear in the high score ranking of the Roach Race minigame in Cyberpunk 2077.
