Kongou

Kongou (Japanese: 金剛) is an Iconic variant of the Constitutional Arms Liberty in Cyberpunk 2077.

Overview

This engraved, magenta and black variant of the Liberty is the signature weapon of Yorinobu Arasaka.

Kongou has an iconic modifier that allows its user to take advantage of the ricochet technology without having the Ballistic Coprocessor cyberware implant installed, causing the weapon's projectiles to ricochet one additional time and have a 25° increased search angle.

The pistol has reduced recoil, increased rate of fire, and 10% increased Crit Chance, though magazine size is reduced by 2.

Acquisition

• The Heist - On a table at the foot of the bed in Yorinobu's Penthouse in Konpeki Plaza.
• Can be purchased from Herold Lowe at the EBM Petrochem Stadium if not looted from the above location.

Trivia

• Kongou is the Japanese word for Vajra, a mythical weapon in Hinduism and Tantric Buddhism that combines the properties of a diamond (indestructibility) and a thunderbolt (irresistible force). These symbolize Yorinobu's prized qualities as well as his unyielding determination to enact his plans.
• Likewise, the two engraved Kanji words on the gun are "磨穿鉄硯" (Rōmaji: masentekken), a Japanese idiom used to describe "unyielding diligence in one's studies"; and "昇竜" (Rōmaji: shōryū), meaning "a rising dragon".
