Union Chapel, located in the South City district of central Night City, has a complex history marked by abandonment, transformation, and decay.
History
Union Chapel was constructed during the mid-late 1990s and was located inside the Combat Zone of South Night City after the Fourth Corporate War. At some point, it was abandoned and fenced off, and by 2020, it had fallen into disrepair. The chapel was transformed into a bar for a time and was used as a lair by Lord Ruthven and his followers. By 2045, Union Chapel was surrounded by rubble.
Architecture and Interior
The abandoned building featured a large foyer with rows of benches and an altar, along with a kitchen, two bedrooms, an office room, a storage area, and a bathroom. Most of the building's entrances were blocked by rubble, except for the main one at the front, which had an open neon sign above it. Inside, there was a large open room with a bar area and dozens of decaying tables and chairs, as well as a display of severed cybered heads on the bar counter. The room also had a stage decorated with blood and human remains, and a staircase leading downstairs to the basement, which was littered with ammunition cases and adorned with blood red candles along the handrails. At the end of the basement staircase, there was a white doorway decorated with red pentagrams, leading to an underground chapel room with ten benches covered in remains. Notably, the body of a borg was bolted to a large metal chrome crucifix.
Notable Events
A mercenary group was hired to find one of the victims, NCU student Lucy Rhinemeyer, who was the only survivor of that ordeal.
