The RPU-A is designed to patrol low-threat areas, such as minimum to medium security containment facilities. It's also used as a crowd control unit in situations in which resistance is not expected to be too intense.
The standard unit looks somewhat like a trashcan on balloon tires. lt is fitted with both audio and visual sensors aswell as a powerful speaker unit.
The unit has two manipulator arms, the right being equipped with a Militech Electronics Taser which runs on the unit's internal battery. The left arm is equipped with an Avante P-1135 Needlegun (with a 45 round magazine).
The torso contains a Nelspot "Wombat" Airpistol (for marking suspects) with a 60 round magazine. Sensors can be upgraded with Cyberoptic and Cyberaudio options at 20% less cost.
Each arm has SP=20 and SDP=20 (useless)/30 (destroyed). The central torso has SP=20 and SDP=40 (useless)/50 (destroyed). Rendering the central torso useless or destroyed disables the entire unit.
It is remotely controlled by either a human or AI system, the standard range is 80km but it can be upgraded with more transmission power. While not being controlled it has a fallback routine that does one of the following: returns it to point of last contact, to a pre-designated location, or shuts it off while emitting a homing signal.
An interface link may be installed for 500eb which gives you +2 bonus to operation skills.[1]
