The Shark is a multifaceted term in the Cyberpunk universe, referring to a pirate, a gig, an apartment complex, and a fighter sub.

Shark the Pirate

Shark is a pirate operating out of Gorantolo on the island of Sulawesi. His family runs a ferry service between Kalimantan, Sulawesi, and Maluku, and they are involved in smuggling drugs, guns, and other goods to these islands and Mindanao in the Philippines. Shark is known for his high-speed chases and has a nickname that sarcastically references his low swimming ability. He is often seen trying to pick up girls, usually with little success. Shark possesses various skills, including Navigation +7 and Brawling +5, and notably has no cyberware.

Gig: Shark in the Water

In the game Cyberpunk 2077, "Shark in the Water" is a gig where the character V is tasked with eliminating Blake Croyle, who has taken over a clinic in Kabuki. The original owner, Roger Wang, contacted Blake regarding a loan but ended up in a debt dispute. Roger's daughter is pregnant and lives in Kabuki, prompting him to hire fixer Regina Jones to resolve the situation. The objectives of the gig include neutralizing Blake and transporting him, with Regina's reaction varying based on V's actions towards Blake.

The Shark Apartment Complex

The Shark is an apartment complex located in Woodland Park, in the Heywood suburb of Night City. Constructed during the 2010s, it features a massive neon sign on the rooftop and, by 2045, was the oldest standing building in Woodland Park. The last floor was rented by the Pearces, a guerrilla gardening collective that grew crops on the rooftop. The building is five stories tall, containing studio and two-bedroom apartments, with two internal staircases and an elevator. It has three central light wells covered by bulletproof frosted glass, security bars on the windows, and garden boxes and greenhouses on the rooftop.

OTEC "Shark" Fighter Sub

The OTEC "Shark" is a fighter sub designed as a defensive gunnery platform. It features heavy armor, rapid-fire weaponry, and is capable of dispatching other fighter subs with relative ease. The Shark is powered by three TransRlSC processors and includes a fly-by-mind control system, along with a trio of homing torpedoes. It also debuts Militech's Advanced Heavy Underwater Combat System (AHUCS) with a skill level of 8 and WA+1.
