Sandra Dorsett is a corporate netrunner and employee of Night Corp. Her storyline spans the main prologue mission The Rescue and the side job Full Disclosure, with additional connections to lore-heavy shards and fan-theorized links to the Jefferson Peralez subplot.
Biography
Around April 2077, Sandra was kidnapped by a group of Scavengers in Watson. Her Biomonitor was disabled via a jammer chip forced into her neuroport, preventing her Trauma Team platinum contract from activating. During the job The Rescue, Jackie Welles, T-Bug, and V infiltrate a Scav hideout to find Sandra submerged in an ice-filled tub to preserve her organs for harvesting.
V removes the chip, triggering a cardiac arrest, and is forced to use an airhypo to revive her. Trauma Team eventually arrives on scene by AV, extracting Sandra on a med-stretcher and leaving V and Jackie behind.[1]
Sandra later recovers and quietly returns to corporate life. However, her abduction coincided with her stealing highly classified Night Corp data. She had uncovered details of a secret AI program, internally called Operation Carpe Noctem, and saved them to a data shard. This shard was lost during her kidnapping and ended up back in Scav hands.
Full Disclosure
Sometime after her recovery, Wakako Okada contacts V on Sandra’s behalf, initiating the side job Full Disclosure. Sandra tasks V with retrieving the encrypted databank. Her instructions are precise: do not tamper with the shard, and deliver it promptly and safely.
Player Choices and Outcomes
The quest allows multiple outcomes based on the player’s actions:
- Unopened return: V gives Sandra the databank without tampering. She is relieved and grateful, paying the standard fee.
- Decrypt + deny: If V decrypts the databank but lies about it, Sandra grows suspicious and pays less.
- Decrypt + admit (neutral): V admits to accessing the shard but does not gloat; Sandra respects the honesty.
- Decrypt + praise her work: By congratulating her netrunning ability, Sandra is visibly pleased and pays more.
- High Intelligence outcome: If V has high INT (≥12), Sandra opens up fully about being hunted by Night Corp, expressing appreciation for honesty. This leads to the maximum reward of ~3800€$ and richer dialogue.
- Blackmail attempt: If V threatens Sandra, she turns hostile, activating her apartment’s auto-turret system, usually resulting in combat and her death.
Connection to Operation Carpe Noctem
Reading the databank (or shards 36–38 found in her apartment) reveals documentation about Night Corp’s experiments with AI and cognitive manipulation. These shards suggest that Night Corp was working on advanced behavioral AI capable of rewriting human personality and memories. Many fans connect this material directly to the mysterious Peralez storyline, in which Jefferson and Elizabeth Peralez show evidence of mind-control interference traced back to Night Corp.
Character Traits
Sandra is described in her in-game database entry as quiet and timid on the surface, but also highly professional and talented at her job. Outside of work, she pursues unofficial netrunning as a personal outlet, a hobby which nearly cost her life during her abduction.
Despite being a minor NPC, her writing conveys trauma realism — she remains visibly shaken when reminded of the Scavs, and is still piecing together gaps in her memory. Players who mention Jackie Welles’ fate during dialogue will hear Sandra express genuine sorrow for his death, hinting at her more empathetic side.

Humans of Night City
HUMANS OF NIGHT CITY — SANDRA DORSETT
Never considered myself the lucky few. Studied hard when I was a kid. Been workin' hard since I joined the corpo. Guess I'm the kind of person who radiates peer pressure. Not gonna apologize for that, sorry. I even got my supervisor super competitive. He used to be choombae and all, faking up a big nice boss face, until he learned about my project. 'Cause it was a good project, 'cause we were making good progress. Local nursing homes need our AI to keep runnin', and the team was assigned to improve AI behavior to, and I'm quoting our PR here, "better support the elder citizen's mental well-being." He was tellin' me I "moved too fast", or I'd "overstepped". Pretty sure I hadn't, 'cause I freakin' love readin' NDAs — and dancin' around 'em. Note from Ziggy: Ditch this. Girl was kidnapped by the Scavs. Spiced up the content, but bossman killed it.[2]
