==Overview==
By [[2045]], the AV-4 continued to be used for security enforcement and emergency purposes by police forces and [[Corporations]], including [[Trauma Team International]] and [[cybersquad]]s.<ref name="CPRED">{{RefCP|RED|324}}</ref> 

The AV-4 was originally developed as a light assault aircraft that could operate in close urban areas, especially in places that could not be reached by rotary and tilt-wing aircraft. Being short, bulbous, and with rudimentary maneuver wings, it had the "aerodynamic characteristics of a rock", and its thrust turbofan engine kept it aloft via brute force alone.<ref name="CPRED"/>
