I was actually thinking of asking you about Discord as well. Pretty much every sizable wiki I manage/edit on has a Discord server set up for its staff/community. At the moment, I think you're right to think that it's not strictly necessary, since the community isn't that large yet. However, with the release of Cyberpunk 2077 getting quite close, I think it would actually be prudent to set up a server to facilitate both editor coordination and general community discussion/engagement for the long term.

There's nothing wrong with message walls per se (and all of my wikis continue to use them), but they don't have the same advantage of real-time discussion that chat programs like Discord do, and aren't great on mobile. Wikia does have a live chat feature at Special:Chat, but this feature is buggy (and deprecated), not optimized for mobile, and also doesn't save chat history. A great portion of our user traffic comes from mobile devices (and this will probably increase in the future), so Discord's portability and accessibility are certainly things to consider.

I would be happy to set up a server for you and handle the moderation for the time being. It's really a resource for the wider community to make use of (editorially, and socially) that staff can also leverage themselves to keep on top of their work. Whatever you feel is appropriate, but I think a server would really do the wiki some good!
