Northside Industrial District is a sub-district located in the northern part of Watson, Night City, known for its abandoned factories and gang presence.

Northside Industrial District (NID) is one of the sub-districts of Watson, situated in northern Night City. Once a prosperous factory area, it has now become largely non-functional and abandoned, with many factories left in disrepair due to earthquake damage. Originally financed by Japanese corporations, the district has seen a decline in its industrial activity, leading to a significant loss of jobs.
Current State
The NID is characterized by a row of towering apartment buildings that divide the center of the district. These buildings are occupied by mid-ranking workers who are employed by the few remaining industries. Many workers express concern about the future, fearing that their industries may close down, as there are limited opportunities outside the NID. The area is also known for its danger, encapsulated in the saying, 'You move to northside, you'll die in northside.'
Architecture and Environment
The buildings in the Northside Industrial District are described as Entropic in form, being simple, boxy, and horizontal. A wide road winds through the area, and a massive AV hangar, a remnant from the district's glory days, occupies an entire block. The landscape is marked by abandoned factories and smokestacks, reflecting the district's decline.
Gang Presence
The Maelstrom gang claims the Northside Industrial District as their territory, exerting control over the area, including the Northside Docks, which are now managed by them. Most cargo arriving at the docks is illegal, and dealing with Maelstrom is often seen as easier than attempting to remove their influence.
